Audio recording has for the most part gone all digital. We have all heard the tales of how digital recording is better, faster, and "The New Standard." Yes, digital is here to stay, but is it better? We believe digital is great for certain tasks, but not all. We believe that a combination of both worlds - analog and digital recording, is the "New Standard" for today's recording studio. Our engineers use an analog front end, tube mic pre-amps, compressors/EQs, and an analog console, tied to a full blown (not LE) Pro Tools digital audio recording system to achieve a killer sound our clients love.

The Mix Studio has been recording hip hop artists, bands, musicians, voice over talent, producers, and sound effects for over 20 years. We still actually care about what is being recorded. We take the time to ensure the best microphone for capturing a perfect recording is used... not the one that was used on the last night's project because it's already set-up. There is a new saying; "Fix it in the Mix." This basically means just record the sound as fast as you can and worry about making it sound good by using digital tricks during the mix process. We do not believe in this method of recording at the Mix Studio. We take the time, effort, and steps to make sure your sound gets recorded the way it is supposed to from the start. We think wasting time to "fix" something that could have been recorded the right way from the beginning takes time away from the creative process of mixing that is needed to go the extra mile to give our clients a finished product that sounds better than most projects released commercially today!

We don't book sessions back-to-back so if you need a bit more time you don't have to feel stressed or worry that "the other" session will be waiting and watching as you try to put the finishing touches on your recording.
